Dr. Dominique Vanier is a naturopathic doctor and clinic owner in the Oakville-Burlington area of Ontario, co-host of the Team Gut Girls Podcast, and an educator with a focus on complex digestive health.
Her interest in gut health is deeply personal. Nearly two decades ago, Dominique began experiencing digestive symptoms that eventually progressed into IBS, chronic fatigue, food sensitivities, and other ongoing health concerns. That experience ultimately led her to naturopathic medicine, giving her a firsthand understanding of just how disruptive chronic digestive symptoms can be.
Today, Dominique combines that lived experience with extensive clinical training. She has completed an intensive two-year fellowship in gastrointestinal health and has taught and lectured to more than 1,000 healthcare clinicians on complex digestive topics.
Her clinical and educational work includes disorders of gut-brain interaction, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), and other complex digestive concerns. She is particularly passionate about translating complicated gut science into realistic, evidence-informed strategies people can actually use.
Beyond clinical practice, Dominique has been involved in professional education, policy, and advocacy within naturopathic medicine, including serving for five years as Vice-Chair of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors Board of Directors.
When she isn’t treating patients, teaching clinicians, or talking gut health, Dominique enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.
